A Cow Describes Business Models

Using a cow as a metaphor is a useful way to describe business models. (Said with respect of course to those who deem it Holy)

Simplifying or codifying (automating) your own proprietary playbooks distilled from the myriad of models into simple toolkits, ways of working (the secret sauce) and frameworks to become knowledge and IP is also part art, part science and a strong differentiator for defensability in a sea of noise today. There are many models including double and triple sided marketplace models, circular, models within models etc although this seems to cover a good few of the basics.

Is there a future emergent model you think we might be missing? ‘How might we’: a nod to Sofie Lievens lfor sharing this helpful framing. Such a great stance and mindset! 👏🏼

I ❤️ it. How might we build a model that inspires the art of the possible?

How might we open source cross-border social value, an iteration of bottom-up crowdfunding, V4.0. A model that hasn’t existed before. One where decisions about food security and the natural resources of our planet, including the wellfare of humans and cows, are shared more equitably via a truly democratised, open sourced model?

Better healthcare for all, dentistry, reorienting skills away from GDP serving metrics towards skills and behaviours fit for the future, not our past. Metrics that focus less on GDP, linked to wars and addictions and rampant inequality.

Modern tensions in the workplace and the changing landscapes in society demand radically new metrics towards purpose (to mitigate displacement risks by automation), health, energy, cooperation, productivity, mobility, sustainable nutrition and vitality. How might we dare to think big to build better tomorrow’s?

If ever there was a moment for being bold, this would be it.

Would love to hear your thoughts?
